Finding Your Way

Nuit Européenne des Musées (European Night of Museums) is a major annual cultural event held across Europe in mid-May where museums and art institutions remain open late into the evening, often accompanied by special performances, workshops, and light-based exhibitions. Our project was created as part of MUba’s special program for this event. This project was based on a selected painting from the MUba Eugène-Leroy museum collection, reinterpreted and transformed into a two-minute animated video mapping piece combining visuals and sound for architectural projection. We chose On White II (1923) by Vassily Kandinsky as the core of our creative direction. The original painting is composed of vivid colors, geometric forms, lines, and dots—rich in symbolism and open to interpretation. Its abstract and free-form nature aligned perfectly with our visual language and creative style. In our interpretation, we focused on the mysterious black geometric shapes within the painting, from which we developed three main symbolic figures: a human, a horse, and a bird. These characters shaped the rhythm and narrative flow of the animation, leading the audience into an abstract journey where imagination and visuals intertwine.
