Solae
Solae is a new typeface designed by Gwennina Moigne. To showcase her new typeface she came to 10 different studios and artists to create a poster that would highlight this new font. Each studio was given a different star sign as the theme of the poster. Our assigned sign was Aquarius. This project was completed as part of an internship, under the mentorship of Marine Buffard.

We were inspired by paper cutouts of pottery and wanted to see how we could use something like this for our poster. This meant 3D rendering a rotating vase, exporting as a png sequence, printing each png sequence - followed by then cutting out each vase. Layered within the compositioion, we found relevant images, scanned them and added them into the background. The outcome was a multi-media digital collage. The poster later exhibited in its non-animated form at the launch party for the Solae typeface.
As with any project, not all concepts make the cut. But here are some other explorations that are worth sharing.
